Special Weather Statement issued March 20 at 12:16PM PDT by NWS Seattle WA

HEAVY RAINFALL OBSERVED OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASED THREAT OF LANDSLIDES IN WESTERN WASHINGTON

San Juan County, WA Whatcom County, WA Skagit County, WA Snohomish County, WA King County, WA Pierce County, WA Lewis County, WA Thurston County, WA Mason County, WA Grays Harbor County, WA Clallam County, WA Jefferson County, WA

Rainfall amounts of 2 to 9 inches over the past 3 days has
increased soil moisture to high levels across western Washington.
This amount of rain that has been observed will continue to put
extra pressure on soil instability, leading to an increased threat
of landslides and debris flows, especially from recent burned
areas.

Over the last couple days multiple slides have been reported
across locations of western Washington. More landslides are
possible.

Areas most susceptible to landslides debris flows under these
conditions are steep coastal bluffs, other steep hillsides or
road cuts, and recent burned areas. A diminishing threat of
landslides and debris flows will continue over the weekend after
the rain ends.

All Time Record March Heat This Weekend

Fisher County, TX Nolan County, TX Sterling County, TX Coke County, TX Runnels County, TX Irion County, TX Tom Green County, TX Concho County, TX Crockett County, TX Schleicher County, TX Sutton County, TX Haskell County, TX Throckmorton County, TX Jones County, TX Shackelford County, TX Taylor County, TX Callahan County, TX Coleman County, TX Brown County, TX McCulloch County, TX San Saba County, TX Menard County, TX Kimble County, TX Mason County, TX

Temperatures will soar across West Central Texas this weekend,
with readings climbing well into the 90s and may even exceed the
100 degree mark. In addition to the daily records which will
almost certainly be shattered, the all time high temperature for
the month of March may well be broken. If Abilene or San Angelo hit
the 100 degree mark, this would also mark the earliest 100 degree
day recorded at either location.

Normal highs for this time of year are in the lower 70s, so
temperatures this weekend will be approaching 30 degrees above
normal. Although most people get acclimated to the 100 degree heat
across West Central Texas by the summer months, this heat this
early in the year may be a bigger concern. Pets, livestock, and
people may not have enough time to adjust to the heat. Remember
to drink plenty of water and provide extra water to livestock and
pets that spend time outdoors.

Special Weather Statement issued March 21 at 7:20AM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL

Buchanan County, IA Delaware County, IA Dubuque County, IA Benton County, IA Linn County, IA Jones County, IA Jackson County, IA Iowa County, IA Johnson County, IA Cedar County, IA Clinton County, IA Muscatine County, IA Scott County, IA Keokuk County, IA Washington County, IA Louisa County, IA Jefferson County, IA Henry County, IA Des Moines County, IA Van Buren County, IA Lee County, IA Jo Daviess County, IL Stephenson County, IL Carroll County, IL Whiteside County, IL Rock Island County, IL Henry County, IL Bureau County, IL Putnam County, IL Mercer County, IL Henderson County, IL Warren County, IL Hancock County, IL McDonough County, IL Scotland County, MO Clark County, MO

Strong southwest winds gusting up to 30 MPH will combine with near
record or record warmth, low humidity, and dried vegetation to
produce an Elevated Fire Danger today. If a fire were to start
under these conditions, there would be an increased threat of fire
spread and be difficult to control.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Use extra caution while
operating outdoor equipment around dry vegetation and do not
carelessly discard cigarettes.
